What the work entails
- Operations management – Reviewing and improving the hotel's daily operations.
- Front office management – Improving reservations, check-in, check-out, concierge, and guest services.
- Housekeeping operations – Establishing standards for cleanliness, room preparation, and maintenance coordination.
- Food & beverage operations – Improving restaurant, bar, kitchen, catering, and banquet performance.
- Staff management – Developing staffing structures, procedures, training, and performance standards.
- Guest experience – Identifying service problems and implementing improvements to increase guest satisfaction.
- Cost control – Monitoring labour, supplies, utilities, food costs, and other operating expenses.
- Revenue optimization – Helping maximize room occupancy, rates, and overall hotel revenue.
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) – Creating practical procedures and service standards for different departments.
- Quality assurance – Conducting operational audits and ensuring consistent service standards.
- Technology & systems – Evaluating property-management systems, booking systems, and other operational technology.
- Health, safety & compliance – Ensuring appropriate operational, safety, and regulatory standards are followed.
- Performance analysis – Reviewing occupancy, revenue, guest feedback, departmental performance, and operational KPIs.
- Pre-opening support – Helping new hotels prepare staffing, procedures, suppliers, systems, and operations before opening.
- Turnaround consulting – Identifying operational weaknesses in underperforming hotels and developing improvement strategies.
